UC-Line Application
Using your Smartphone with UC-Line
Smartphone usage today has increased tremendously, with that numerous applications exist that can enhance your productivity, or provide the feature set you need for todays’ business environment. The UC-Line Application offers just that, an enhancement to your business system by making your smartphone an extension of your UC-Line system.
1. Screens and Menus
Once logged in, you will be on the dial pad screen. To make a call, dial any number as if you were using your desk phone.
Along the bottom, there are other icons to access the other features and settings.

On the Contacts menu, the All menu shows the phones built-in contacts. The Favorites menu shows contacts you have added to favorites. You can search your contacts using the button.
Clicking on the [+] button will let you add a contact. Enter any information required and click the √ to save it.
The call history menu (All) shows incoming, outgoing and missed calls. The Missed call history shows only missed calls.

The Settings menu includes:

2. Making calls
- Dial the desired number from the dial pad screen and press the green [Call] button. Starting to dial, the UC-Line Application will start a lookup in your address book for matching numbers.
- You can also choose to dial from your contacts by simply choosing the contact and tapping the number for the desired call.
- You can also dial from your call history. Simply tap the [handset] icon to dial.
Once found and dialed, the application will show ‘Calling’ and you have 3 option buttons in addition to the red end call button.

Mute – Will mute your microphone so the other party will not hear anything you say |

Once the call is connected, the status will show as “On Call” with the elapsed time next to it. The connection quality will also be shown. You will have 3 additional buttons in addition to the red end call button.

Hold – This is like a pause button, it will put the call on hold. The caller will hear the music on hold if it was programmed on the UC-Line system |

Add a call – This will allow you to create a conference call by adding another caller. This can be an internal or external call |

Clicking on the [Add a Call] button will bring up the keypad to dial an additional number.
Dial as you would a regular call and press the green [Call] button. Potential matched numbers will show up above the dial pad.
Once connected, and your called party has agreed to your conference call, press the [Merge Call] button.
The [Switch Call] button will allow you to switch between the two calls individually. It will put each call on hold so you can toggle between the two calls. The call you are currently on will be shows at the top of the screen.
While in a conference call, you will see the word “Conference” at the top of the screen and the elapsed time of the conference. The numbers you have dialed are present just below that.
You now have a new option, that is to un-merge the calls. Press the [Split Calls] button to create two separate calls again.
The Call Statistics screen can show some additional information about your call. This information includes the audio codec being used, total call time and the data information about the call.
3. Transferring calls
Transferring calls with the UC-Line Application is simple. While on a call, press the [Menu] button and choose [Transfer to…]
Now dial the number you wish to transfer the call to, and press the [Send] button. The call will be transferred to the destination and the display will show “Transferred” for a short period of time.
4. Receiving calls
Receiving calls is the same as if you were receiving a cellular call. If the UC-Line Application is in the background or not open, you will still receive the call. Your device will provide a notification that you have a call.
